GENERAL TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
a) The competition is open to children who attend High School (7th, 8th, 9th grades) and
Lyceum (10th, 11th, 12th grades), and who write in Modern Greek or English. (Judges will
take into account the spelling and correct wording).
b) The report should not exceed two (2) pages.
c) Essays must be postmarked no later than March 30, 2021 by the school and mailed to
the above address.
d) The results will be announced on April 30, 2021 by the Committee to be headed by a
University professor the ensure the integrity of the competition.
e) All essays are the property of the American Philhellene Society and can be used for
various purposes of publicity, always with the name of the author.
f) The awards ceremony and the distribution of the cash prize will be on Saturday, May
29, 2021, as part of the presentation of the memorial monument to the American
Philhellenes to the City of Aurora, Illinois..
